two weeks of renewal

In just a few hours Yvonne and I will drive to Miami – yes, straight through! My wife deserves a vacation as she has been putting in long hours at all three of her jobs – and has put up with my “global gallivanting” long enough. Now it is time to include her. Actually, our first 5 days will be at a floating Christian conference/seminar. I discovered this opportunity almost a year ago, and wanted to be part of the adventure. Lots of penny-saving has helped – and God has given us this time of rest and relazation with some wonderful people. We are truly thankful. Listed below are links to 3 of the speakers/hosts we will be spending time with. I hope you will take time to check out their blogs – very interesting people with great leadership skills. I am pumped for this networking & inspirational learning event. So it is like study leave but in warmer climes, and lots of food! We are pleased to take this cruise with our great life-long friends, who also now serve in ministry (at Pinegrove Baptist in Bracebridge), Sandy & Dusty Papke. Once back on dry land we will use our time in Orlando to read, rest, hike, write, prep a sermon or two, and try to get back into my marathon training mode. Oh – also a day with Lou & Anna Tharp who will take us on their boat in the Gulf & to Caladesi Island. We’ll be back in time for Palm Sunday worship. Amanda will be our faithful stay – at – home phone answerer, mail gatherer, message taker.

Blessings to all of you,
